When Phoenix assumes guardianship, we are legally responsible for making decisions on behalf of the individual. We may serve both minor children and adults. Guardianship may include:

• Involving the individual in decision-making as much as possible.

• Making care, treatment, and residence decisions.

• Signing legal documents on the individual’s behalf.

• Arranging financial management services, if needed.

• Aiding in competency restoration when applicable.

• Providing status updates to the NC courts as required.
